SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!!!

So this Sunday is Wrestlemania 24. Like I have been for the past 8 years, I'll go over to my bud's, Marcus, place. Though this year, I'm feeling sort of complacent about it. I guess I could blame that on the fact that Jeff Hardy is no longer in the MITB match, and will probably be doomed to mid-card status for life. I really don't care about either World Title match since either outcome is predictable. I guess they should put the strap on Hunter, since he hasn't held a title in over 3 years. As the main-eventer that he is, not holding a World Title seems awkward.

However, since I'm a schmuck who can't give this up, I'll watch it. Then bitch about it online, and watch the following RAW. If only somebody would dump a few million in TNA, then there would be slight hope of competition. But that's another story all together.

fear and sickness in Atlanta

I have a fever and my nerdy fever dreams are not making my days go by faster. Hopefully this will all be over by Monday and I can continue my Munny-making and action figure cataloging.

Also to add, my shiny new avatar was made by Chris Henderson from www.shinyblocks.com. Seriously good stuff there, boyos.

The Joker stole my money!!!

Okay, he didn't REALLY steal my money, but from the way things are looking, I'll be gladly giving all I have for everything related to The Dark Knight. I honestly don't think I have ever been excited for ANYTHING (Christmas of '87 INCLUDED) like I have been for this movie.

Seriously...is it July yet?

Overkill

I am doing my best to not sound like an elitist here, but I don't think I can hold my tongue for much longer. The whole trend nowadays is to make a comic book property and make it into a 95 to 125 minute movie, and it's starting to show it's age. Now, don't get me wrong! I love Spider-Man 1 and 2, X-Men 1 and 2, Batman Begins, Sin City, Superman: The Movie and have been looking forward for The Dark Knight since the credits rolled on "Begins". Though I like them, because they are actually well-made.

News from WonderCon has told me that several new properties will be made into movies, even one that had only been on the shelves for a few days. Is Hollywood that dried-up that it can no longer even come up with it's own stories anymore? It feels weird to me now since when I was growing up, I was ostericized for reading the "funny books" and I see the same people who made fun of me standing in line for these movies. Same deal with Lord of the Rings, but that's a whole different story right now.

I think Hollywood needs to back down for a while. If they continue on the track they are on, we'll be stuck with movies NOBODY wants to see cluttering up our cinemas. Does anybody really want to see LeVar Burton as Deathlok? Honestly, Hollywood hot shots, lay off my books.
